TRIO Scholar Benefits

Our TRIO program offers its members a large selection of opportunities.

Peer Mentoring
  • Our program offers a mentoring program. This program pairs first-year students with upperclassmen so that the first-years always have a resource to help them adjust, learn about the school, and figure out life as a new college student.
  • Mentors meet with their mentees at least once a week to check in and help in any way they can.

Advising
  • Each student is also paired with a professional staff member who is their advisor.
  • Students meet with their advisors every other week, at which time they can ask about registering for classes, financial aid, paying their bill, or any other question that their mentor may not have an exact answer for.

Tutoring
  • We tutor in almost any class (Math and writing excluded, as they have their own programs). Students may have one-on-one tutoring or group sessions, all of which is free for participants.
  • TRIO scholars receive extended tutoring hours as well as priority hiring in the Plymouth Academic Support Services (PASS) Office.

Financial Aid Assistance
  • We help in filling out financial aid applications, locating available scholarships, and assisting students to understand their financial and economic standing.

Graduate School
  • We assist students in applying for admission to and obtaining financial assistance for enrollment in graduate programs.
